SCMS Associates have been appointed by The Drapers’ Company for the full M&E design of 27 Throgmorton Street, London, EC2N 2AQ.
The project comprises of a major refurbishment/remodelling of an existing grade II listed building located within the City of London. The building is owned by The Drapers’ Company and is currently utilised as a multi-tenanted commercial office space, comprising of Basement, Ground and four stories above ground.
The Basement levels are mainly utilised for storage with some plant and incoming utility service areas. The building also incorporates a retail unit located within part of the ground/basement level, which will remain and operate throughout the refurbishment works.
The building will be complete with new building services systems throughout. The client aspiration is that the completed scheme should reflect the requirements of a modern office development within this location based on the requirements, where applicable, of the British Council for Offices (BCO) guides. The services will include comfort cooling, heating public health and fresh air ventilation, together with new lighting, power, data and vertical transportation systems.
