The Regeneration Project, London
SCMS Associates have a broad range of experience of working in the ‘residential’ sector and, importantly, a lot of this has been gained whilst designing high rise buildings. We will assemble a team that can bring a unique range of skills to our projects to ensure that we identify and quickly resolve the important challenges that can present themselves.
SCMS Associates have previous experience of working in ‘residential’ environments and as such will understand the importance of ensuring that the complex issues and procedures relating to such schemes are considered. We have previously worked on various ‘mid’ to fully ‘high’ end residential developments across London, the UK and overseas.
SCMS Associates are working with both Ealing Council and United Living to provide the Stage 0-6 design services in respect of the proposed regeneration scheme in Ealing, West London, as part of the wider Ealing Council Development of the area. When completed, the regeneration scheme will consist of the following:-
- 205No. New Homes
- 550No. Refurbished Existing Homes
- New Community and Retail Facilities
- Improved Car Parking
- Improved Security
- Regenerated 1km Long Estate
In 2012 Ealing Council made a commitment to regenerate Copley Close using its own resources. Changes to the way council housing is funded means Ealing Council is able to fund refurbishment of the estate and to act as both developer and landlord.
This allows the council to retain asset value of its land and ensure that 65% of homes will be affordable. Ealing Council is the first local authority to do so. In February 2014, the council’s regeneration of Copley Close won a prestigious London Planning Award for the ‘Best Conceptual Project’, an award which recognises excellence in building and planning.
Our initial works were to provide a due diligence exercise on Phase 1 (Worcester Court) of the scheme, essentially stewarding the original design consultants work. Further works included design & build performance services to tender stage of Phase 2 (Copley North) and Phase 4 (Copley Central).
