Royal Borough Of Greenwich announces 300m contract for New Build Local Authority Housing using Modular Construction

SCMS Associates are delighted to announce our appointment, (via AE Elkins Construction/Management Framework Partner) in our capacity as MEP & Sustainability Consultants to the biggest contract for delivering new build Local Authority Housing using modular construction to date, delivering up to 750 affordable rent Local Authority homes across 60 sites.

The project will run across five years with the possible extension of a further five years.

SCMS were selected to AE Elkins initial bid team due to our extensive experience and expertise in providing energy efficient low/zero carbon solutions, in conjunction with the “Modular Off-Site Manufacture” residential market both in London and overseas.

SCMS are delighted to be working alongside our fellow principal partners AE Elkins, shedkm Architects, Ideal Modular Homes, Consibee and BCA Landscapes in delivering these Carbon Positive units, meaning the operational energy of the homes will be not only better for the environment but also more affordable for the tenants, helping to address the fuel poverty gap, whilst working strongly towards the Mayor of London’s zero-carbon city by 2050.
